Horseback Trail Riding in Connemara

The Wild Atlantic Way and Connemara could have been designed just for Horseback Trail Riding!

In Ireland and most of Europe, trail riding is called ‘hacking’, but it means the same thing. So, whether we’re trail riding or hacking, we’ll be exploring our surroundings on horseback.

With Connemara Equestrian Escapes, you’ll be astride a Connemara Pony or Irish Draught Horse to enjoy your trail riding in comfort and safety.

Every member of our equine team has been hand–selected for the job of ensuring that your trail riding experience with Connemara Equestrian Escapes  is memorable for all the right reasons. They are intelligent, strong, gentle, honest, sure-footed and kind. Many of the Connemara Ponies are home-bred on Curra Farm.

The trail riding with Connemara Equestrian Escapes includes forestry, bog roads, quiet country lanes, long stretches of sandy beach and the lakeshore.

The landscape and terrain changes dramatically throughout Connemara so you are assured of a different but equally exciting experience while trail riding sections of the Wild Atlantic Way and the Moycullen area.

All our trail riding is guided; that means that you will always be accompanied by our trained and experienced guides, who can provide unique and fascinating insights into local culture, history and customs.

You’re not just horseback trail riding with Connemara Equestrian Escapes –you’re being informed and entertained!
