Renvyle House Hotel & Resort is spectacularly located on a 150 acre estate with 1km of beach on the Wild Atlantic Way, its own private freshwater lake for fishing and boating and grounds which include woodlands, a kitchen garden, an orchard and many leisure facilities. It is a four star family owned and operated property, first opened as a hotel in 1883.
It’s history dates back to the 12th century; the historic house was rebuilt after the Irish Civil War in the Arts & Crafts design style of the late 1920’s using local craftsmen and locally sourced material, an ethos the owners (of almost 70 years) have conserved and maintained in this lovely, welcoming house. It is an award winning hotel for hospitality over the years with a warm welcome for every guest, delicious food and comfortable bedrooms. Leisure facilities include tennis courts, outdoor heated pool in the summer months, lawn bowls, croquet, canoeing, boating and fly-fishing and beautiful walks around the grounds of which some is a European designated Special Area of Conversation.
The Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey and a Green Coast sandy beach are all within 10 minutes of the hotel. With plenty to explore further afield with Killary Fjord, Omey Island and more beautiful beaches.
“There’s something sleeping in my breast
That wakens only in the West;
There’s something in the core of me
That needs the West to set it free.”
